Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic material that is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and offers excellent toughness, chemical resistance, and high performance in a thermoforming and corrosive environment. Polypropylene is suitable for contact with food products and has the ability to withstand contact with many common sterilization materials. Additional features include ease of processing, good electrical insulation, fatigue endurance, not slippery as other engineered products (such as HDPE/UHMW), and a very low water absorption rate.

It also meets FDA 21CFR 177.1520 and USDA guidelines for use in federally inspected meat and poultry packing facilities.

Polypropylene Copolymer has a continuous use temperature range of -4° F (-20° C) to 176° F (80° C) and exhibits an increased impact strength at low temperatures. Polypropylene Homopolymer has a continuous use temperature of 32° F (0° C) to 212° F (100° C).

Features:

  • High impact and abrasion resistance strength
  • Stress crack resistant
  • Excellent processability - formable and weldable
  • Meets food handling guidelines
  • High chemical and corrosion-resistant
  • Good electrical insulation properties
  • Low water absorption
  • FDA and 3-A Dairy Compliant. (Please note - the black color sheet is not FDA compliant).
