PETG is a clear plastic that can be formed into a number of shapes, making it suitable for use in a broad range of applications. PETG is easily fabricated and can be heat-bent or thermoformed, making it well-suited to display applications. Primarily used indoors, it can also be printed or painted for graphics applications. PETG falls between acrylic and polycarbonate as far as impact resistance, with higher impact resistance than acrylic, but lower resistance than polycarbonate. It also meets FDA requirements for food contact and is available in several gauges. PETG is sold under Vivak, PRIME, Lumex G, and Spectar.

Finishing of Clear Polycarbonate Sheets
Polycarbonate Lexan clear sheet has PE foil on both sides. Plates are therefore always supplied free of scratches. We recommend that you only remove the foil from the plates after you have already done any finishing operations and are sure that everything fits properly. The ends of a polycarbonate sheet have a light sawing stroke and become dull when sawing. The edges are of course burr-free.
Processing of Clear Polycarbonate Sheets
Polycarbonate is excellent to work with drilling, milling and sawing tools. If you decide to work the panels with a jigsaw, use a saw with medium teeth (for hardwoods, for example). Polycarbonate can be set cold to a thickness of approximately 6mm using a press brake, without tearing or discolouring on the folding seam. With plates thicker than 6mm, the plate must be preheated to prevent cracks due to too much tension in the material. Polycarbonate cannot be polished, only clarified with solvents.
Applications of PETG Sheets

- Enclosures
- Food and Beverage Preparation and Processing
- Machine Guards
- POP/Display
